Best For

Vaginal Dryness

“There is no comparable or better delivery method to address classic symptoms of vaginal dryness, pain with sex, or lack of sensation than direct vaginal administration. It has the lowest side effect profile, as it is not given systemically, and it targets the tissue that needs the most help directly. ”

Details

Vaginal dryness is the most common concern we hear about at Womaness—so we take it seriously. We took our time (more than two years!) to develop our Melt For You inserts for this reason.

Created to deliver deep hydration where you need it most, each insert melts at body temperature within minutes, releasing medical-grade hyaluronic acid to be absorbed by your vaginal walls.

It all helps replenish moisture, support elasticity, comfortably nourish delicate tissue, and maintain a balanced pH… helping you feel more comfortable, more confident for intimacy, and more naturally like you again, every day.

How To Use

Melt For You inserts are applicator-free and easy to use. Use one vaginal insert at a time:

  • Remove from packaging. Then, with a clean finger, gently insert one suppository into the vaginal canal as far as it will comfortably go, ideally before bedtime
  • The insert will melt as it hydrates, so a pantyliner can protect clothing and sheets
  • Store in a cool, dry place. In a warmer climate? Refrigeration is optional

Suggested Use: Adults, use one suppository, preferably at night, 2 to 3 days per week for maximum improvement.

Hero Ingredients

HYALURONIC ACID
This medical-grade hyaluronic acid, a natural humectant produced by your body, supports vaginal hydration to lock in moisture for better elasticity. The HA used in Melt For You is produced in a pharmaceutical-grade facility.

LACTIC ACID
Often used in gynecologic care, this non-irritating, naturally occurring acid helps maintain vaginal pH—supporting an environment that's more favorable for beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus, which play an important role in vaginal health.

COCOA BUTTER
A naturally rich, skin-conditioning butter that helps each insert melt smoothly at body temperature, creating a soft, soothing feel.

ALL INGREDIENTS
Sodium hyaluronate, cocoa butter, lactic acid, hard fat

What to Expect

Day 1Relief You Can Feel

Most women say they notice a “softened,” soothed feeling within the first day or two. You might feel a gentle coating at first—that’s normal and means it’s working.

Day 7Consistent Comfort

Hydration levels start to stabilize. Tissues feel more flexible, friction decreases, and everyday movement (sitting, walking, working out, intimacy) feels noticeably easier.

Day 14Deeply Restored

This is when consistency pays off: Your moisture balance has had time to fully replenish. You’ll notice lasting softness and comfort, even on days you don’t use an insert.

FAQs

Why don’t you include an applicator with your inserts?

Melt For You inserts are applicator-free by design—created to be placed gently inside using a clean finger. Because the insert melts quickly at body temperature, it doesn’t need to be inserted as high as a tampon. Many women prefer the control and simplicity of applicator-free insertion. Plus, it means less plastic waste.

How should I insert Melt For You using my finger?

Start by washing your hands. Remove one insert from the packaging and find a comfortable position—lying down, squatting slightly, or standing with one leg elevated can help. Using a clean finger, gently insert the melt as far as your finger comfortably reaches. Once inside, body temperature will begin to melt the insert so it can disperse naturally. Note that many women prefer using Melt For You before bedtime (it’s our recommendation!).

How often should I use Melt For You?

For best results, we recommend using one insert every two to three days as part of your hydration routine. Consistent use helps support ongoing moisture and comfort over time. Because every body is different, some women may choose to adjust their routine depending on their needs.

Will the insert leak or feel messy?

Because Melt For You melts at body temperature, you may notice some moisture as the insert dissolves. This is normal and simply means the insert is working as intended. Using a pantyliner can help protect clothes and bed sheets if there is any noticeable residue.

How long does it take for the insert to absorb?

Melt For You begins melting within a few minutes of insertion as it warms to body temperature. As the insert dissolves, the hydrating ingredients disperse along the vaginal walls. Some women may notice a small amount of residue or moisture as the insert melts, which is completely normal. To protect your clothing, we recommend wearing a pantyliner.

How long does it take to notice a difference?

Many women begin to notice improved comfort within the first few uses. Because hydration builds over time, using Melt For You regularly—about every two to three days—can help support ongoing moisture and comfort.

When is the best time to use Melt For You?

Many women prefer using Melt For You before bedtime. This allows the insert to melt comfortably while you rest and helps minimize any residue during daily activity.

Can vaginal inserts be used alongside hormone therapy?

Yes. Melt For You is hormone-free and may be used alongside hormone therapy (HRT). If you are using prescription vaginal medications or hormone treatments, it’s always a good idea to speak with your healthcare provider about how best to incorporate additional products into your routine.

Can I use Melt For You during my period?

Yes. Melt For You can be used during your period. Keep in mind that menstrual flow may cause the insert to dissolve and leave the body more quickly, so some women prefer using it when their flow is lighter.

Can I wear a tampon at the same time?

It’s best not to use Melt For You at the same time as a tampon, as the tampon may absorb the melting insert before it has time to disperse. For best results, use Melt For You when you’re not wearing a tampon.

Can I use Melt For You with condoms?

Melt For You is not compatible with condoms or dental dams, as its base may weaken latex.

Does Melt For You have a flavor?

No. Our inserts are not flavored.

Does it have a scent?

No—it’s completely fragrance-free.

Is Melt For You meant for oral use?

No. This product is intended for vaginal use only.

How long after insertion can you have sex? Can you have sex with the insert still present?

Melt For You typically melts and disperse within about 15–30 minutes at body temperature. For the most comfortable experience, we recommend inserting Melt For You at least 30–60 minutes before intercourse so it has time to fully dissolve and distribute. Having sex while the insert is still solid isn't recommended—it can feel gritty or uncomfortable for both partners, and the insert won't have a chance to do its job. Once melted, it acts as a silky lubricating layer.

Important condom note: Because Melt For You contains oil-based ingredients (cocoa butter and semi-synthetic glycerides), it is not compatible with latex or polyisoprene condoms or diaphragms, as oils break down latex and can cause failure. If you rely on condoms for contraception or STI prevention, use non-latex polyurethane condoms, or avoid Melt For You around latex contact.

What is the source of the hard fat and lactic acid?

The "hard fat" (semi-synthetic glycerides) in Melt For You is plant-derived. It’s made from vegetable oils, typically coconut and/or palm, that are refined to create a base which is solid at room temperature and melts cleanly at body temperature. The cocoa butter is also plant-derived, pressed from cocoa beans (Theobroma cacao).

The lactic acid is produced by bacterial fermentation of plant sugars (most commonly corn, beet, or sugarcane)—and it's not derived from milk, despite the name. This is the same molecule your body's own Lactobacillus bacteria naturally produce in the vagina to maintain a healthy pH.

What are the chances of having an allergic reaction?

Very low. Each of the four ingredients in Melt For You is considered well-tolerated:

Sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) and lactic acid are both molecules your body naturally produces, so true allergic reactions are extremely rare. Semi-synthetic glycerides are inert and widely used in suppositories and pharmaceuticals. Cocoa butter has a low allergenicity profile, though people with a known cocoa or chocolate allergy should avoid it. Sensitivity (mild stinging or warmth) is more common than true allergy and usually resolves quickly. As with any intimate product, anyone with a history of sensitive tissue or a known ingredient allergy should patch-test on the inner forearm first and discontinue use if irritation occurs. Please consult a doctor if you have concerns.

Can this bother my partner during sex or foreplay? Will they notice the insert?

Once Melt For You has dissolved (give it that 30–60 minutes), most partners just notice extra lubrication and a silky feel…nothing distinct about the insert itself. It's unscented and unflavored, and the ingredients are body-safe for skin-to-skin and oral contact, though the slightly oily texture may not be everyone's preference for oral contact.

If intercourse happens before the suppository is fully melted, a partner may feel a small solid piece, which can be uncomfortable (another reason to plan ahead!). And again, the oil base will compromise latex condoms.

How does this compare to vaginal estrogen therapy?

These two products do different things and aren't substitutes for each other—and many people benefit from using both.

Melt For You is a hormone-free moisturizer/lubricant. It works mechanically and chemically at the surface: hyaluronic acid draws and holds moisture, lactic acid supports a healthy vaginal pH, and the glyceride/cocoa butter base provides lubrication and comfort. It's available over the counter, works immediately on contact, and is safe for essentially everyone, including people who can't or don't want to use hormones (such as some breast cancer survivors, though they should still check with their oncologist).

Vaginal estrogen therapy (creams, tablets, or rings like Estrace, Vagifem, Imvexxy, Estring) is a prescription medication that replaces estrogen locally in vaginal tissue. It treats the underlying tissue changes of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM)—meaning it actually rebuilds tissue thickness, elasticity, and natural lubrication over weeks of consistent use, and can also help with recurrent UTIs and urinary symptoms. Systemic absorption is very low, but it does require a prescription and isn't appropriate for everyone.

The shorthand: vaginal estrogen treats the cause of menopausal vaginal changes; Melt For You addresses the symptoms (dryness, friction, discomfort) immediately and can be used alongside estrogen or on its own. People with mild dryness or those who want a non-hormonal option often find Melt For You sufficient. People with moderate-to-severe GSM symptoms typically get the most benefit from vaginal estrogen, sometimes paired with a moisturizer like Melt For You for extra comfort or on intimate occasions.

What is the pH of Melt For You?

The pH of our suppository is 3.2, which is a little lower than the natural pH. The potential benefits of this include:

  • Stronger antimicrobial effect: A lower pH creates a more hostile environment for harmful bacteria and some pathogens, which is why some boric acid suppositories (commonly used for recurrent BV or yeast infections) fall in the 3.0–3.5 range
  • May help restore balance faster in women whose pH has risen significantly (common post-menopause or after antibiotic use)
  • Discourages Gardnerella and anaerobic bacteria associated with bacterial vaginosis
