If we had to describe Sarah Foley in one word, it would be "powerhouse." After building a successful career in the male-dominated finance industry in venture capital, private equity, and financial advising, today she’s the managing partner of SWAT Equity Partners. SWAT is an early-stage, customer-focused venture firm (and an early investor of Womaness!) focused on investing in maverick brands with a unique, game-changing point of view. She sat down to chat with us about her life and what keeps her going.
First thing I do each morning
“Turn on NPR and catch up on news outside my professional bubble.”
Three things I always keep in/on my nightstand
“A glass of water, The Works body lotion from Womaness, and my iPad for reading."
My go-to beauty hack or wellness ritual
“Exercise! Any type of movement with some aerobic elevation and resulting endorphin rush always makes me feel better, both physically and mentally.”
My inner age (the age I really feel) and why
“Younger—always! I am surrounded by founders of all ages and their passion, enthusiasm, and drive constantly keep me motivated.”
“Any type of movement always makes me feel better, both physically and mentally”
Advice I would give to my younger self
“Be respectful without defaulting to being deferential. I enjoy being in a continual state of learning from others, but will not discount my own experience and its value.”
We don’t believe in “The Pause.” Tell us, what are you not pausing on?
“Truly enjoying my work! Spending time with incredible founders and other consumer investors every day is a dream. Building a team and firm culture that supports founders is incredibly exciting and rewarding.”
Word that best describes your Womaness
“Boldness.”
