By Womaness Editors 2-Minute Read

If you asked the Womaness staff who tops their lists of women we admire, you’d most certainly hear the name Sarah Fotis. Her obsession to find solutions that naturally solve beauty, health, and wellness challenges has taken her across the globe—but it’s also helped her solve an issue that hit home: a personal struggle with hair loss after the birth of her kids and a subsequent stroke.
Tapping into her more than two decades in the consumer packaged-goods (CPG) world, in 2019, the Tory Burch Fellow launched Collective Laboratories, the cult-favorite hair wellness brand shedding the shame of hair loss through proven science and traditional botanical remedies. Get to know the powerhouse founder, gender equity advocate, and Orange Theory enthusiast in this latest profile.
First thing I do each morning
“Meditate for 30 minutes. I love when the house is quiet (kids and husband are still sleeping). I have been meditating every day for the past six years—it's a part of me.
I also say to myself, ‘Something wonderful will happen today,’ every day, while lying in bed. It really does change the way I look at the day ahead.”
Three things I always keep on my nightstand
“1) Crystals
2) Books (two fiction, one non-fiction)
3) Hair ties”
My go-to beauty hack or wellness ritual
“Wellness: Working out daily (I am OBSESSED with going to Orange Theory—go about daily) and stretching at night before I go to bed.
Beauty: I cannot live without four things that I use daily—both AM and PM: (1) Eye cream, (2) Vitamin C serum, (3) Retinol, and, of course, (4) Collective Labs' Hair Serum.”
“I am not pausing on ANYTHING. I am the strongest I have ever been in my life (mentally and physically)—I am just getting started.”
My inner age (the age I really feel) and why
“I feel like my inner age is around 40. I've been through a lot and I feel like I've gained a certain wisdom and perspective. I have a good mix of energy and experience. I'm still ambitious and enjoy new adventures, but I also appreciate stability and have a clearer sense of who I am and what I want.”
Advice I would give to my younger self
“Speak up and advocate for yourself. And support those who cannot do it for themselves.”
We don’t believe in “The Pause.” Tell us, what are you not pausing on?
“I am not pausing on ANYTHING. I am the strongest I have ever been in my life (mentally and physically)—I am just getting started.”
What's your favorite Womaness product?
“Active Glow. It is the perfect supplement to topical hair products. My hair feels stronger and grows so fast since I started taking the supplement coupled with the Collective Labs' Hair Serum! Also, since I started using Active Glow a few months ago, my joint pain is GONE and my nails are strong. My manicures have never looked better.”
Word that best describes your Womaness
“‘Intense-ness.’ I feel deeply—about my family, my friends, my job...my life. Also, going to perimenopause is definitely intense.”
