FAQ

When should I apply Plump It Up in my skincare routine?

Use retinol in your evening routine. Using the applicator, massage in the product in the spots you’d like after cleansing and before applying neck serum, eye cream, and moisturizer to your face. See the list of products to avoid using (or to use on alternating nights) in the answer below, and apply SPF 30 during the day.

What products should I avoid while using retinol?

Because it could irritate your skin, retinol should not be used with heavy scrubs, astringents, toners, exfoliating toners (like our Brighten Up), alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, or vitamin C (like Fountain of Glow).

Who should be careful using retinol?

If you have eczema, rosacea, or are pregnant or nursing, please see your doctor before using retinol.

Why did you include a roller applicator?

We wanted to make it easy to use our retinol as a spot treatment, because in this phase of life, you may not want to use it all over your face. Plus it feels cool going on.

How did you formulate this retinol for aging skin?

Retinol is a gold-standard ingredient shown to smooth fine lines and increase elasticity. But it can potentially irritate sensitive skin as it ages and changes, so we ensured Plump It Up had an effective 0.3% dose of retinol...enough to improve your skin’s overall look and minimize the downsides.

Are there any ingredients other than retinol?
Yes. Since aging can dry out your complexion, we knew we needed a retinol formulation that also adds moisture. We included hyaluronic acid—a hydration hero—and moisture-retaining ceramide NG keep things balanced and moisturized.
