Chris Freytag for Womaness

There's a reason Chris Freytag chose "fierceness" as her favorite word in the final question of our signature Womaness Woman series. Because in the ever-evolving world of health and fitness, few names shine as boldly as hers.

For more than three decades, this nationally known fitness guru has been empowering women through exercise and wellness, touching the lives of countless individuals with her dynamic approach. From the electric energy of her fitness classes, to the insight in her books, to the engaging content on her website, GetHealthyU.com, Chris shows women how to (finally!) take control of their health. Her app, Get Healthy U TV, offers over 700 workouts, making fitness accessible to women everywhere, anytime, and on any device. Chris's journey is not just about fitness; it's a testament to the power of dedication, the relentless pursuit of wellness, and the rewards of remaining as fierce as you've always been.

First thing I do each morning

“I stretch my back with my massage ball for five minutes. Then I work out first thing in the morning! Next it's my coffee, greens, and a protein shake.

Three things I always keep on my nightstand

“Sadly just my iPhone. Nothing else. I don't read at night—just straight to bed since I get up so early (I have a 4:30am wake-up call during the week).

My go-to beauty hack or wellness ritual

“Beauty: A thick and creamy moisturizer on my face every night. Vitamin C serum every morning. Wellness: I use my massage ball and infrared light therapy to keep my back feeling great every day. I walk several miles a day.”

Turning 50 truly is a right of passage. It's a time where wisdom takes deep root into your mind and body and you realize what matters in life.”

My inner age (the age I really feel) and why

“I feel like I"m still in my 40s. I still love to move in the same ways; I still love to do many of the same things. I had a very detailed health assessment last fall and was told my biological age is 17 years younger than I am.

Advice I would give to my younger self

“Don't be so vain. Don't worry about what other people think about you. Turning 50 truly is a right of passage. It's a time where wisdom takes deep root into your mind and body and you realize what matters in life. I also realized that what matters most is how I treat others, my relationships, and sharing my talents. I can't please everybody—I just have to do my best and share my passions!

We don’t believe in “The Pause.” Tell us, what are you not pausing on?

“It's just another phase of life. I am not pausing on my health. I feel great and believe in the power of movement—working out, strength training, eating healthy, etc. It's not a pause to me; it's actually a new time of life with wisdom, more time to enjoy things, more time to take care of myself, and more time to give back to others.

What's your favorite Womaness product?

“I just started using them, but I'm loving Let's Neck. Can't wait to see results!

Word that best describes your Womaness

“Realness. Sexiness. Tenderness. Passioness. Strongness. Intenseness. I do love the word Fierceness—covers it all.
